Socialist Book Club - Lenin's State and Revolution

Tuesday March 31st, 2026 from 6 to 8 PM @ Red Flag Books, 83 Sydney Road Brunswick
Join us at Red Flag Books at 6pm on the last Tuesday of every month to discuss key Marxist texts. Whether you're new to Socialist politics, or a veteran revolutionary, everybody is welcome.
This March, we'll discuss Lenin's State and Revolution. In this classic work, Lenin makes the case for the revolutionary alternative to parliamentary socialism. Drawing on Marx’s work, he explains why the capitalist state can’t overthrow capitalism, and what a revolutionary strategy might look like. Lenin also describes how a workers’ state can provide a revolutionary alternative based on workers’ self-organisation, drawing on the experience of the Paris Commune and the Russian Revolution of 1905.
