Deamer (1890-1972) was a New Zealand-born writer, journalist, actor, and free spirit. Her autobiography includes a chronological account of Deamer's pre-bohemian life; some hilarious anecdotes about local literary figures; and a long section describing the personalities and parties that made up bohemian Sydney. This edition adds an afterword by Deamer's daughter, Rosemary Goldie, as well as an account of the writing of The Golden Decade and its torturous path to publication. Distributed by ISBS.
