The purpose of this pamphlet is to begin the much-needed task of examining the theory of patriarchy by drawing on the Australian experience from the standpoint of revolutionary Marxism. It outlines the theoretical method underlying Marxism and how it differs from the theory of patriarchy. Bloodworth examines the origins of the family in Australia and the role of the concept of a family wage in the workplace, and challenges the Feminist charge that women's oppression could continue under socialism.
