This is a set of two books by Marilyn Garson
Still Lives deals Marilyn Garson's time in Gaza. In 2011 Marilyn witnessed first-hand the impact of Israel's urban assault and massive civilian displacement. The UN was prepared to shelter 35,000 displaced Gazans, but 293,000 arrived. Locked in beneath the bombs, they had nowhere safer to go, and nothing but the United Nations flag and international law to protect them.
This book is an account of her four years in Gaza, during which her identity as a Jewish supporter of Palestinian rights was strengthened and deepened.
Jewish Not Zionist also explores the weaponization of antisemitism and challenges the groups who claim to speak for the Jewish community. It offers a timely analysis of the International Court of Justice's impact on the voice of protest. Garson writes with the arohoa (love) of Gaza and an unwavering resolve learned on the front lines of the international movement for justice.
